I've started practicum for my degree and I am still awaiting my period. It is amazing now I have to deal with 24 five or six year olds that my desire to have a child has increased. I thought it would have decreased with the exhaustion I'm experiencing, but they are just so darn wonderful when they 'learn' something. I had a great 'light bulb' moment today and watched one little girl go from one strategy to a new one that I had taught her. I felt pretty amazing after seeing that light go off in her eyes.
My university work is going slowly, but I am getting there...eventually. I just wish I didn't have to have so many extremes in my prac placements. Last year, I had the most controlling teacher and this time I have the most laid back. She is so carefree that the class is almost unruly in my opinion. This afternoon in art I had a huge headache develop due to the noise they created. I stopped, assessed the situation and picked up a book to read to quieten them down. Funnily enough I've read to them every day so far in the afternoon and they seem to be soothed by it.
This afternoon with a huge headache I managed to make two large lasagnes. One for the carnivore that is my husband. It is his favourite meal and as it is his birthday tomorrow he gets to choose his favourite meal for dinner. I made mine vegetarian and my daughter has decided she wants to have mine instead of Dad's. She is so cute at times.
Thankfully, this weekend we are at home and relaxing. I am so very tired after all the running around I have been doing. At least I managed to organise the next two weeks reading groups. They will love the books and I was able to choose and as an added bonus they mostly tie in to the HSIE unit we are doing. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and working some more with the book 'Billy the Punk'. I do wish they were not always doing worksheets.
So come on hormones and kick into gear and give me what I am waiting for...I really want to get started on this whole baby making process.
See you soon sweetpea.
